What does Shopify Plus development actually include?
Everything that makes Plus different from standard Shopify: changes to your checkout, custom discount and checkout rules (Shopify Functions), B2B and wholesale at scale, Flow automation, Markets for selling internationally, expansion stores, and the migration to get you there. We build on Shopify's current checkout (Checkout Extensibility), not the old checkout.liquid that Shopify has phased out.
Do you work with brands already on Shopify Plus?
Yes. A lot of Plus work is improving a store that's already live: changes to the checkout, custom discount and checkout rules, B2B and wholesale, Flow automation and new storefronts. Yes. Whether you're moving up from Shopify Advanced or from Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or a custom platform, we plan the move end to end: theme, checkout, integrations, customer and order data, and a redirect map so you keep your search rankings. Is Shopify Plus worth the cost for my store?
Not always, and we'll tell you if it isn't. Plus starts from £1,800 a month, so it pays its way when you need checkout changes, serious B2B, high volume with automation, or selling in several markets. If you need a faster, better standard store, that money is often better spent on the store itself. That's what the free readiness call is for.
Shopify Plus vs Advanced: which do I need?
Advanced is around £344 a month and Plus starts around £1,800, on the same platform. Plus earns the difference when you need a customisable checkout, B2B with more than three catalogues, more than one storefront, or higher API limits. If none of those is holding back revenue today, Advanced is the better spend and we'll tell you so.
Are you a Shopify Plus Partner?
We're a Shopify Partner and have been since 2017, and Shopify Plus development is a regular part of our work. We also build and run our own apps on the Shopify App Store, so our code is used and supported in live stores every day. You deal directly with the people doing the work, with no account manager in between. If a project needs more hands than we can give it, we'll say so early and point you in the right direction.
Can you build B2B and wholesale on Plus?
Yes, and it's work we particularly enjoy. Company accounts and contacts, customer-specific catalogues and price lists, volume and tiered pricing, quote requests, payment terms and purchase order checkout, all on Shopify's own B2B features. Native B2B now comes with every Shopify plan, up to three catalogues, so we'll tell you honestly whether you need Plus for it. Our Forge theme is built for exactly this.
How long does a Shopify Plus project or migration take?
A focused migration typically takes 6 to 10 weeks. A new Plus store built around how you sell usually takes 10 to 16 weeks. You get a fixed scope and a fixed price before we start, regular demos, and a shared Linear board so you can see progress and priorities the whole way through.
What happens after launch?
Every project includes 90 days of post-launch support. After that, most stores move onto a Plus support retainer for ongoing development, on-call cover in peak trading windows and quarterly performance reviews. There's no lock-in: you own all the code and can leave with 30 days' notice.
