Shopify ERP integration, so orders, stock and accounts stay in step

We connect Shopify to your ERP, accounting, warehouse and marketplace systems, so orders, stock, prices and invoices move between them on their own. No re-keying, no overselling, and a clear alert if anything doesn’t sync.

What moves between Shopify and your ERP

Most integrations cover some or all of these. We agree each one, field by field, before anything is built.

  • Orders

New orders from every channel reach your ERP within minutes, with the right customer, tax, shipping and payment details, and no duplicates if a message is sent twice.
  • Stock levels

Stock from your ERP or warehouse updates Shopify on its own, across every location and store, so you stop overselling and stop updating spreadsheets.
  • Products and prices

Product data, prices and trade price lists managed in one place and pushed to Shopify, including B2B catalogues for wholesale customers.
  • Customers and trade accounts

Customer records and company accounts kept in step, so your sales team and your store see the same terms, credit limits and price lists.
  • Fulfilment, tracking and returns

Dispatch confirmations and tracking numbers sent back to Shopify so customers are told automatically, and returns recorded in both systems.
  • Invoices and payments

Sales, refunds, fees and payouts posted to your accounts in a form your accountant can reconcile, rather than one line per order.

Connector app, integration platform or custom build?

There are three ways to connect Shopify to an ERP, and a custom build isn’t always the right one. We’ll tell you which fits before you spend anything.

  • Usually the cheapest

    An existing connector app

Many ERPs and accounting systems have a Shopify app, from the vendor or a specialist. If your process is fairly standard, this is the right answer, and setting it up properly takes hours, not weeks.
  • Monthly fee

    An integration platform

Platforms such as Celigo or Patchworks connect several systems through pre-built flows. They suit businesses with many systems and someone in-house to look after them.
  • When nothing fits

    A custom integration

Built around how you actually trade: unusual order flows, marketplaces, several stores, B2B terms or an ERP without a good connector. You own the code, and there's no per-order fee.

ERP and accounting systems we connect to Shopify

The systems merchants ask us about most. If yours has an API, we can usually connect it, and we check it properly in the review.

Built so you can stop checking it

The hard part of an integration isn’t moving data. It’s what happens when something goes wrong at 2am on a busy weekend.

  • Nothing goes missing quietly

Every sync is logged. If something fails, it's retried, and if it still fails, someone is told, with the order number and the reason.
  • No duplicate orders

Each record is matched on a stable ID, so a message sent twice, or a retry after a timeout, can't create a second order or invoice.
  • A nightly check

Real-time updates handle the day to day, and a scheduled check compares both systems and fixes anything that drifted.
  • You own it

The code and the documentation are yours. If you ever move agency, the integration goes with you.

How a Shopify ERP integration project runs

The price is fixed at step two, before anything is built.

  1. 1

    Integration review

We map which data moves, in which direction and how often, and check your ERP's API. If an existing connector does the job, we'll say so here.
  2. 2

    Specification and fixed price

A written spec of every field and rule, with a fixed price and what done means. Edge cases such as part-shipments, refunds and B2B orders are agreed up front.
  3. 3

    Build and test

Built against a test copy of your ERP and a development store, then run in parallel with your current process until the numbers match.
  4. 4

    Go live and watch

Switched on at a quiet time, with close monitoring for the first weeks, then handed over with documentation.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Shopify ERP integration cost?
If an existing connector app covers what you need, setting it up properly usually takes a few hours at £125 an hour, plus the app's own monthly fee. A custom integration starts from £8,000 as a fixed price, depending on how many kinds of data move and how many systems are involved. The integration review is free, and you get a written price before any work starts.
How long does an ERP integration take?
A custom integration usually takes three to six weeks, including a period running alongside your current process to check the numbers match. Setting up an existing connector is often done in a few days.
Do we need Shopify Plus to connect an ERP?
No. ERPs connect to every Shopify plan through the same Admin API. Plus helps if you sell B2B at scale, with unlimited catalogues assigned to each company, or run several stores that all need to sync, but it isn't required for the integration itself.
Should we use a connector app or a custom integration?
Use a connector if your process is standard and the app is well supported, because it's cheaper to buy and to run. A custom integration makes sense when your order flow is unusual, when you sell through marketplaces or several stores, when B2B terms need to sync, or when the connector's per-order fees add up. We don't resell any connector, so we'll give you a straight answer.
Can you connect Shopify to Xero or Sage?
Yes. For most stores, a dedicated accounting connector that posts daily summaries to Xero or Sage is the right choice, and we can set it up. If you need more, such as trade customers, stock or purchase orders flowing between Sage 200 and Shopify, we build that as a custom integration.
What happens if the sync fails?
Every sync is logged and retried automatically. If something still fails, an alert goes to the right person with the order and the reason, and a nightly check compares both systems to catch anything that drifted.
Can you take over an integration another agency built?
Yes. We start with a paid audit of the code and how it runs, write down what's there, and then fix, extend or replace it. We won't take one on without an audit, because integrations often hide surprises.
Which ERP works best with Shopify?
It depends on your size, your sector and whether you sell B2B, so we won't name one for everyone. NetSuite, Business Central and Brightpearl are common for growing brands, and Sage 200 and Xero for UK businesses that want to keep their accounts where they are. If you're choosing one now, we're happy to talk through what each means for your Shopify store.
