✦ Shopify agency for London

A Shopify agency
for London,
50 minutes away.

EC Web is a founder-led Shopify studio in Cambridge, working with London brands on themes, Shopify Plus, custom apps and integrations. Remote by default, on-site when it counts.

Straight up: I’m not a London office. I’m one engineer in Cambridge, a short train ride up the line, who works with London Shopify brands the way any good studio does now, mostly remote with real time in the room when it matters. That’s cheaper for you and honest from me.

§ How I work with London teams

Remote-first, on-site when it counts
01
Remote by default

Most of the work is remote, the same as it would be for a London agency two Tube stops from your office. Shared Linear board, preview links, and calls when they help.

02
On-site when it counts

Kick-offs, workshops, launch days. Cambridge to King's Cross is about 50 minutes, so being in the room for the moments that matter is easy, not a project in itself.

03
One engineer, not a relay

You brief the person writing the code. No account manager translating your requirements into a ticket and losing half of it on the way.

? Frequently asked

5 questions

Are you actually based in London?

No, and I'd rather be straight about it. EC Web is a founder-led studio in Cambridge. Cambridge to London King's Cross is roughly 50 minutes by train, so I work with London brands remotely day to day and come into the city for kick-offs, workshops and launches. If you specifically need a team sitting in a London office five days a week, I'm not that, and I'll happily say so.

Will you come on-site in London?

Yes, for the moments where being in the room earns its keep: project kick-offs, stakeholder workshops, and launch days. Because the commute is short, on-site time doesn't carry the travel overhead it would from further afield. Most week-to-week delivery still happens remotely, which keeps the budget going into the build rather than the train.

What kind of London brands do you work with?

Independent and scaling DTC brands, B2B and wholesale operations, and merchants moving up to Shopify Plus. The common thread is that they want the engineer doing the work to understand the business, not a large agency where the senior people you met in the pitch never touch the project again.

How does working with a Cambridge studio compare on cost?

Generally favourably. You get senior, founder-level Shopify work without central-London agency overheads baked into the rate, and because delivery is remote-first you're not paying for anyone's time on the Central line. Every engagement is scoped and fixed-priced in writing before it starts, so there are no surprises either way.

Can you handle a full Shopify Plus migration for a London business?

Yes. Migrations and replatforms onto Shopify Plus are core work: theme, checkout, integrations, an SEO-safe redirect plan, and data migration, delivered as a fixed-price project. See the Shopify Plus page for how those engagements are structured.

London brand, let’s talk.

Tell me what you’re building or what’s slowing you down. I’ll come back with a plan and a fixed price, and we can meet in London if that’s easier than a call.
